Hello
I know should be asking the dr this but he's not there at this time of the
afternoon/evening and I really want to take something for my cold.

Does anyone know if its ok to take codral for colds if you are taking
Plaquenil and prednisone daily?

I know you guys are not drs for advice on this but you all seem to know your
meds pretty well so thought it wouldn't hurt to ask until I can get in touch
with the dr to check tomorrow cause I really need to clear this up asap as
im getting married on saturday and really dont need a head cold into the
equation.

thanks

I don't know the answer.  Just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you.
I wish you and your fiance the best wishes on your marriage.

My RD said if I had a cough or cold to see my PCP rather than do over the
counter meds for it.  I don't know if it was the potential interaction with
the Plaq and Pred or not.  Do you have a call-in number where you talk to a
nurse?  That would be my first step.  Good luck!

Thanks for the well wishes everyone :)

I contacted the pharmacist and he looked it all up and said it was fine to
take some cold meds with what I'm already on.

Has anybody tried not to stress to not inflame their RA 1 day before your
own wedding, hehe not possible in my opinion.

Anyway my cold is getting much better, had to up the pred marginally but
pain is gone and im now looking forward to a pain free wonderful wedding
tomorrow, im really quite excited by it all.  not to mention the 6 weeks
following it in the UK and Ireland where my RD has said I'm allowed to go to
pubs and drink a  little and should enjoy it now as once I start on
methotrexate when I get back it will be good bye nights at the pub and nice
wines at home.

Anyway thanks again for all the people in this newsgroup reading your
stories and troubles and also seeing the sense of humour here has helped me
come to terms with the fact I have this disease and also helped me accept
that I have no control over where it goes either, could be mild could be
severe but regardless I have it for life so have to get to know and accept
it as yet another part of myself.

talk to all when I get back :)

bye

Hope this helps - Discovery Health has a drug interaction checker that I use
all the time to see if any of the medications I use together can cause an
interactions.  Once you enter this web site, click on the Drug Reference
Center in the column on the left.  Click on the drug checker and follow the
instructions. Here is the web site:  http://health.discovery.com
