Bone infarcts (tibia)...anyone had?

Hi all,

Beyond everything else that has happened I now have multiple bone
infarcts (osteonecrosis/pre-osteonecrosis) in at least my right tibia
(more MRIs on the way). So far the joint surface is not involved, but
one of the infarcts comes right up to just below the medial cartilage.
Has anyone here had this before? What, if any, treatment or
recommendations did your doctor give?

I don't walk too much (lots of pain in multiple joints, ostenecrosis and
significant collapse of the left talus, bilateral hip replacement, and
generally feeling crappy from all the medication for the aplastic
anaemia) so my doctor doesn't think that 'no weight bearing' is really
necessary at the moment. My only real option if I had to go to no weight
bearing would be a wheelchair, as my left leg has the avn in the ankle
from a traumatic injury years ago and my left wrist is next on the MRI
list, so no crutches.

All this, and it looks like we may have to go to transplant sooner than
hoped or expected. As such, knee replacement would not be an option for
quite some years.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

Hi Ari,,,,  I read what you have to say and my problems become not so big,
no so important.  If people think that arthritis problems are easy to handle
or can not get out of hand,,,,, they should read your post.   I just want
you to know that God heard your name today.  God knows that other people
worry about Ari.   I hope things get better and hayyyy that is what wheel
chairs are for.
