Hi everybody, I've been away for a while and just got back to your news
group...Hope everybody is doing well...In the last five years I have had two
knee replacements and two hip replacements.  I feel like it has been a God
send and has turned my life around for the better and  I would certainly go
through the surgeries again.  Looks like that is what is about to happen to
me.....the lower part of my hip replacement has come loose and now I am
facing a revisement.  Has anybody been through this before or had any
experience in a revisement?   Barbara

Hi Barbara
I had a revision of my left hip because the part that fits into the femur
slid in too far thus shortening the leg but it was revised four months after
the original surgery.  It was no harder than the original surgery but they
apparently only put a longer stem on the ball  that goes into the hip
socket, and a thicker pad on it.  The leg is still too short about 1/2 inch
but I haven't any discomfort with it.  I wear a felt insole in my shoe on
that side.  I also have both hips and knees replaced and am very happy with
them.  I wish you luck with your revision.
Sincerely
Lorrie F

Wow, sorry to here the one hip decided to not work. I
thought you usually got a lot longer before a
revisement was necessary.
Welcome home.
