I have recently been prescribed etodolac. To my surprise I found it
classed as a cox 2. This article gives some interesting info on it
http://www.creakyjoints.com/go/article0078.shtml

Personally I don't think it is as good at pain relief as the voltarol I
have been taking, but it does seem easier on the gut and may not have
the cardiovascular problems associated with some other cox 2s

Class 2? Wow, the VA took me off Vioxx, said that Bextra was not advisable
as a substitute (this was 4 or 5  months or more ago), and put me on a
"safe" older drug called Etodolac "with a record of very few side effects".

Anyone else going this route with Etodolac?

Sorry this response is late, but I just spotted it.

Thanks in advance---
Ron
