Newsgroup Spambuster - 27 Mar 2005 01:09 GMT Hi ________ (did you want to be called little bit or do you have a name to go buy?)
Welcome to the group. Sorry you have a need to be here, but glad you found us. Hope you'll pull up a chair and stick around for a while, as this is a great group of people who will go out of thier way to help you out in any way they can.
What type of arthritis do you have? Are you on any meds for it at all? Have you seen a rheumatologist at all?
Praying the physical therapy will be a big help to you and get your muscles strengthened so you do a bit better.

I had to wait until there was a none html so I could get back to you. Don't worry about it so much, you didn't know!
Anyway, glad you're here, though I am sorry you had to find us. Arthritis is unfair but so is life. I have Fibromyalgia and Sjogren's Syndrome with inflammatory arthritis, and a zillion of other stuff that goes with them. Hopefully you'll stick around and maybe pick up some tricks from us old-timers that will make your life a little easier.

Thank's Little Bit Simply replying like this in plain text is thanks enough. Some people put up a fight.

Caroline Marold - 27 Mar 2005 03:05 GMT Hey little bit. I am reposting your note as it was in HTML and lots of folks can't read anything on a newsgroup posted that way. I didn't want you to go unseen so posting again for you. My RA attacks my muscles and tendons first and then goes after my joints. See if Fibro sounds like what you are feeling. http://www.arthritisinsight.com/medical/disease/fms/ Hide your chocolate -- this crowd is not to be trusted. lol Duckie

Skip - 28 Mar 2005 01:32 GMT Hiya Bit! I can relate to the sore muscles. Whenever the aches & pains get too much and I stop moving, my calves tend to get knotted and my other legs muscles just don't feel right. Keep up the gentle exercise and the physio, and of course, try to find out which variety of arthritis you are dealing with.
As for hiding the chocolate - I have so much from the easter weekend that I might have to snail mail it to others here. Right after I quality test it of course (urp) ;-)

You are very welcome to post here. I'm sorry to hear about your pain. I have fibromyalgia and inflammatory arthritis. I didn't use my arms or shoulder muscles for a long time and lost almost all of my muscle tone. It took a long time to regain it but it is much better now. Maybe over time you will regain some of yours also.

DiWitt - 29 Mar 2005 17:08 GMT Hi Little Bit - Welcome. I have RA and Multiple Sclerosis as well as Fibromyalgia and too many other side issues to mention. I was in a wheelchair for various issues off and on over a few years and it weakened my back and stomach muscles. When those muscles are weak, other muscles that weren't designed to help you stand and walk take over too much of action and can cause tension and pain like you describe. It's good you are in therapy to work on strengthen them. Keep up the work! It will pay off in the long run. Don't be afraid to let me hold your chocolate for you if you need me too. I don't really like chocolate all that much unless it's Belgium chocolate. So it's safe with me!

Little Bit Be honest. Were you being good at staying out of their baskets, or are you just holding out for the good stuff? Most Easter basket candy doesn't qualify.
(Note to self, add chocolate to grocery list) Jo
firechief - 30 Mar 2005 02:14 GMT > Be honest. Were you being good at staying out of their > baskets, or are you just holding out for the good stuff? GOOD STUFF? You must be talking about the 50% off sales at Party City, the grocery stores, drug stores.
... Why can't you tickle yourself?
Little Bit - 30 Mar 2005 02:39 GMT LOL Now you'll know i have this weakness when it comes to chocolate...You better keep it locked up...Maybe i do have the wong name i just wanted to think i was Little Bit in real life im pleasently plup LOL Little Bit

It makes me smile! Anyway, it's not like my knees will let me "skip" anymore - I just like to think it's possible. :) As Katherine Hepburn once said about her figure "what you see is the result of a lifetime of chocolate" Lovely lady. I too, have generous curves and wouldn't change a thing. Women are supposed to have shape! lol!

Caroline Marold - 30 Mar 2005 23:38 GMT My name comes from a dance video a group got to watch at a long ago Gimpfest. I was wearing a dove costume which pretty much resembled a Duck -- hence the name. I also think that my lower half being larger than the top helps to carry the imagine along. hehehe Used to be a picture on ArthritisInsight.com but an evil piece of scum attacked the sight and things like that were lost. quack

DeeTee and Bob Taggart - 31 Mar 2005 03:19 GMT My name comes from my initials. I am former Army and my husband is retired Army. In the military everything is shortened to the smallest denominator. We use initials a lot. Soon after we married my husband, Bob, started calling me DT. When there was some confusion on the newsgroup due to the number of Diana's and Diane's, I decided to make my initials into a name....DeeTee. It's all one word, but I capitalize the T in Taggart.

DeeTee and Bob Taggart - 31 Mar 2005 15:04 GMT Yes - if we had to pay for all the doctors, specialists, medications, tests, procedures, etc., we'd be up a creek! I truly don't know how those with no insurance do it....or don't.

I'm going to save it and melt peices into hot chocolate. For some reason, this year we had a lot of Kinder eggs. I think the guys had more fun putting the toys together than the kids. lol! Lesson of the day: Little kids plus loads of chocolate for breakfast equals exhausted parents. :-p

It's practically medicinal.

RichardDGollerJr - 18 Apr 2007 17:11 GMT Dear Jo,
When I was a child in the late 1950's my Dad would fly from San Diego to New York City every fall for business meetings and bring home a large box of Baraccini Chocolate which he would then give to my Mom for Christmas.
I got to thinking about this recently, and am trying to find where I might be able to get some again, and a google search came up with only four references to "Baraccini", and of them, communicating with you looks to be the most promising.
Please reply directly to me at rdgoller AT earthlink DOT net.
Thank you for your time and my God bless you and your family richly in everything that you do.
