Doctor was very specific about making sure I understood not to get this
stuff on my good hand. ANd to be very careful about putting it on the bad
one. I was having a hard time following a lot of what he said, he kept
forgetting I read lips and wandering around the room. But he made a point
of that.
He's telling me to be careful in the kitchen, etc. I'm thinking careful
means staying the heck out of the kitchen.
Probably wishful thinking but I really think the injection has helped with
the swelling in the joint. Of course that means more of the joint damage is
visable.

Jo, praying that the nausea has eased up for you by now and that you
have been resting and taking it easy since getting back home! Sure
hope this finger thing clears up quickly and that you get to feeling
better soon!
Hugs!

Well, if you've numbed the skin, then you can't tell if a pot handle is hot
or your finger is too close to a knife blade (says she who cut her finger on
a slicer because her fingertips are a little less sensitive than most
people).
So be real careful. It can get messy. ;-)

for that matter, a numb finger is really no good for testing the heat of
liquids either...... (says she who burned her throat downing hot sake that
was tested with the slightly nerve damaged index finger!)

So, Jo, how are you doing now? Has the nausea improved? Did the
injection help the finger at all???
Just thinking of you and wondering how you are doing!

The nausea lasted most of the day. I think it was just a delayed reaction
to the pain from the injection. And I think the shot did help. That
particular joint on the finger looks less swollen to me. I still have
swelling and pain in the end joint but the lidocane helps with that. It
bothers me most at bedtime and I figure the lidocaine is pretty safe then
too.
