What is this called: the medical name for:

Tthe "stocking" type sock that they put on your leg/arm etc......before
they cast it with plaster  called?

I wear one under my splint for comfort.

I only was given 1 extra with my splint--so if I need more, I'll know
what to ask for.  Mine was gauze-like and I was told It wouldn't last
long.

Any thing else out ther that is more durable than stockenettes for
splints?
