For the past few days my wrist, hand, little finger, and forearm have had
the weirdest pain. Nothing is swollen, nothing is red, but the strangest
skin pain all along the outside part of my arm and finger. It's so bad that
I can't wear my watch. I thought it had something to do with my my elbow --
have had problems before -- but this is different. No tingling or numbness.
Weird, huh?
Thanks -- Judy

I get this kind of pain all the time...Sometimes it is localized to one
area...It can be my scalp and face or my leg or my arms...I can not stand to
wear sleeves on my forearms unless they are baggy..right now even as I
type...My sweatshirt is aggravating my arms...Heck the air aggravates it...I
think it is part of my Fibromyalgia...but I don't know...
Hope it goes away for you soon...
Hugs Cindy

I'll piggy back on Cindy's post, simply because I hadn't thought about
having this pain until I'd read Cindy's (...scalp and face or my
leg...). Okay, I have it too. Scalp mostly. Could be fibro, could be
stress (could be both). Except that I didn't have "all the fibro pain"
a couple of years ago, but I'd still get this pain (mostly scalp).
It comes and goes, I usually take it as a sign to "chill", have some
chamomile tea and relax. Tends to go away when I make an "effort" to
relax, so perhaps, just "chillin'" would help you?
Hope it gets better quick.

still soudns nerve-related to me, just without the tingling and numbness this
time. I've had some of that with the nerve damage from my busted up wrist.
On its really good days I won't have any numbness/tingling but I can never
stand anyting on my wrist. Had to switch my watch to my left arm and gave up
my love for quality bangle bracelets.

My RD told me it was part of the Fibromyalgia family. Do you have Fibro?

I asked my RD once if I had Fibromyalgia and he said he didn't think so. I
have Sjogrens and bursitis in addition to all my other charms :-)
I have some problems with my elbow at times (some tunnel -- not carpal) but
that leaves my ring and little fingers numb and tingly. This is different. I
guess I should ask him what he thinks. Just what I need -- another
syndrome.

I've gotten pain along myfron forearms before..can be very intense....but
i've found that it might be referrred to the bumps I have along that
area...when it happens i slather on the lydocaine oitnment.....its the only
thing that helps..also some kind heat sometimes..

Judy,
It could be symptoms of cubital tunel syndrome which is the impingement of
the ulnar nerve at the elbow. Early signs of this do not always include the
tingling and numbness that you expect.

that was exactly what i was thinking. numbness/tingling/pain at thumb,
index and middle finger is carpal tunnel. ring finger and pinky are signs
of ulnar nerve impingment. try icing your elbow, judy, and see if you
notice any changes in your symptoms.

Thank you all for the kind advice. I do have cubital tunnel syndrome, but
mostly I experience the tingling and numbess of which you spoke. I know the
pain associated with it. I think I might call the doc tomorrow, but I will
try the icing my elbow tonight.
Thank you all again.
With much appreciation,
Judy

I had similar symptoms over a year ago while in the hosp. My RD did not
think much, she was out smarted by a new Resident, he had been watching me
and suggested gout; she said no way no swelling or burning. Well the
Resident ordered uric acid and sure enough through the roof. Dx gout, the
RD said it happens but is rare she gave the Resident full marks for
observing my drinking habits!

That's something, considering how highly you think of your RD - then again, I
guess it fits that she gave full credit to the resident who one-upped her!
