Gary the $80 fare to Tampa is one way and the fare on return would be $89.
for a
total of $169. Some better but now I'm checking to see if I have enough air
miles to qualify on Delta from B'ham to Tampa. Thanks for your help.

Why can't you purchase a second one-way fare
from Tampa to home for $80?

I think I checked Fri/Mon pricing, but I really didn't know what days/dates
you were going. Just knew Tampa was going to be cheaper than Sarasota.
I hope you can make the trip and have a ball.
