Hi,
I am currently taking Humira and have done fairly well on it...however I
am experiencing some all over body pain, not exclusive to joints, but
muscles, tendons, etc...could be from the fibro.
My question is...what other drug do you take for the pain of RA that is
working for you?
My dr wants to add Arava or other to my diet...I am on 5mg of pred and 2
pills a day of plaquenil in addition to the Humira.
Any good advice on what to try...would like something tht is not too
hard on the stomach.
Spring is almost here for us! ;)

Hi Polly,
I couldn't take Humira (well, I tried it for about 4 months). However,
I'm on MTX (20mg weekly), Arava (25mg M-F), Sulfazine HC (2000 mg
daily), Motrin (2400 mg daily), Folic Acid (2mg daily), recently I was
put on Ultram (150mg daily). I also take 5mg of Ambien at night and
10mg Flexeril (I have RA, Fibromyalgia, Bursitis, OA, etc., etc., etc.,
;D).
I also take some herbal supplements to offset the medication.
Fortunately for me, the RD has finally agreed to NEVER put me on
Prednisone ever again (I am such a b*tch on it).
Smokie Darling (Annie) - I am in no way under control, but at least the
Ultram seems to take some of the edge off the pain. Enough to sleep
for 2 or 3 hours anyway.

HI Polly! Where do you live that spring is almost there? We've got another
6 weeks or so.....
I have RA/PA and fibro. My medicine chest currently has Enbrel, mtx & Bextra
for the arthritis and Lexapro (one of the SSRIs used some for sleep and pain
relief), Zanaflex (muscle relaxer) and Ultram 50 mg w/ acetaminophen 500 mg
3-4 times/day. It all helps but even altogether I don't feel GOOD again,
just less awful. Still, I did manage to vacuum and mop the bathroom and
kitchen today - with a couple of naps along the way - and I couldn't have
done all of that without all the meds.
If it's muscles and tendons aching, that does sound more like fibro. What
are you on now for those pains?
