Out local shop has been carrying some candies from
the 30's and 40's. I found VIOLET mints that I had
been searching for....for something like 30 years.

Oh wow. I remember going to Farrell's in San Diego for birthday
parties... Darn, they don't make The Zoo anymore. That was pretty
cool, it had scoops of all the ice cream, with all the toppings, in a
huge metal bowl, with little plastic zoo animals on top of the whipped
cream. Took two young men to carry the silly thing out!
I can also remember when The Pig Trough had a thing that if you could
eat more than one completely, they were all free (my brother could eat
3).
