Belinda,
I hope that your operations were sucessful and that you have no regrets...I
think that alot us wait too long...for One the doctors say you are too
young...And then the fear that after it is all said and done you are no
better off. I figure that I will put it off as long as I can still walk with
out an aid and before I am too old for the rehab that goes with it..
I am afraid that the Fibro will still be hurting so bad, I won't even notice
I had it done.;P

I am 47 & have had RA for at least for 30 years, also fibro, diabetes, high
blood pressure etc, etc. The knee & hand surgery hurt BAD for a few days &
if you have surgery you must do the PT .

My cousin Calum is a physio in the Canadian Military.  He has said he has
made more grown men cry with tkr rehab.  He also say many are glad as it
shortened their recovery and most had fewer complications.

I also get angry at the Ortho line of being to young.  I asked the last guy
my RD sent me to if he rather I remain in pain, become addicted to narcotics
(that makes them crazy) or have a new knee and have a better life.  He was
one of those real medical scientists and did not understand quality of life,
only the science.

Had mine done 11/5/04 and am now back dancing my
routines. Started my chacha routine flat out last week.
My friend Dolly who wear braces now to dance says I
look great. Poor Jimmy has both us gimps to hold up on
the dance floor.
Glad you are having such good luck with yours too.
