sorry i havent been around much - i have been lurking though - i have
had serious complications from the broken hip, lost my job & my health
insurance & just havent been on line much lately...
but i do have a question - in my bid to get all my scripts (19 in all)
filled before my health insurance expires, my rheumy wrote 2 different
scripts for MTX...knowing there was a shortage & he differed the
quanity....ok, my pharmacy says they can no longer get it - they called
the manufacturer and were told that it is no longer being made...i know
there was a shortage, but no longer being made??? have any of you heard
of this??? they said they tried everything to get this script filled,
but to no avail???
the mtx has been a god send for me - i struggled with some of the other
drugs (kineret & humira) but with a $35 copay - could not get them -
MTX was $0!!!! now with out health insurance, everything will change,
but i want the MTX...
any word ???

MTX with preservative is the problem. I get the kind without and, although
it's a two dose bottle, I draw up one dose and have to toss the other. It
grinds my jaws when so many people can't get it, but the military said I
couldn't keep it once the seal was broken because it doesn't have the
preservative.
Good luck, hon,

I've been told that if you keep the non preservative refrigerated you can
use it again.

I asked about that and was told no, I was not to use it. So, what can I
do? It still hurts to throw away medicine when I know how much it can help
some people.
