Hi all,
Near had a heart attack today. Opened a bill from the hospital for $2500!
Seems the insurance company requested thier money be returned for the neck
injections I had done last April. What??!! Upon further investigation,
insurance claims my referring physician was not in-network. Really??? He's
been my hmo pcp for 3 years now and they have paid every bill he has ever
submitted. Well, they finally decided there was an error somewhere (no s**t
charlie) and the hospital should resubmit the bill. That'll take another 3
months to process before the hospital gets paid again. I must say the
hospital staff has been very good about getting this straightened out for
me. I think I'll sleep a bit better tonight now.

Maybe we need insurance for when the insurance company screws up :-)
Glad to hear the hospital staff are being good about it! Some are not
and don't want to hear it.

Try to smile, Gary :))))

It's not health care in America that's sick, it's how we pay for it
that needs psychotherapy.

Oy!  and they wonder why we complain about the system!

I keep thinking if they could even pass legislation requiring standarization
of insurance forms and procedures we'd be so much better off.  Apparently the
US insurance lobby doesn't want that, though it seems to me that it would
benefit them in the long run - unless they figure confusion allows them to
keep their money longer......  Well, I'm taking over your thread for my
soapbox.  I'm glad you were able to get it straightened out - at least for
now.

Hi Nann,
Soapbox on my dear, soapbox on. Only way things get changed for the better
as it applies to us!

I hate insurance companies and the peon numb nuts that
work for them.  They are trying to NOT pay the nursing
home they sent me to instead of rehab after the knee
operation. My husband won't let me talk with them
because he is afraid I might get mad. lol  You think?
