Has anyone had the Zimmer 2 incision hip replacement? I'm looking for
information on complications. Our orthopedic hospital says it is too
risky. One of the women in our pool arthritis program had it and got a
cracked femour. The other pool people don't know if she had
osteoporosis. I'm also hearing infection. The website for Zimmer
claims no more complications than conventional replacement. Then again
Vioxx was "safe" too.

Thanks

Is zimmer the 'keyhole' type technique, with the smaller incision? If
so, from someone involved in these types of surgeries, I've heard that
while the scar is less the internal dissection is greater. I have not
followed up to review the technique to see if this is accurate or not.

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. Complications in
hospital following this resulted in a serious illness. I now need a bone
marrow transplant. Many people around the world are waiting for a marrow
transplant, too. Please volunteer to be a marrow donor:

If they wont do it O&A I would be suspicious.  Some of the best surgeons and
Rheumy's work at Orthopaedic and Arthritis Hospital.  This is true even
since it has come under the umbrella of Sunnybrook & Women's HSC.
