I am looking for a recipe for the hot lemon stuff for cough and chest
congestion. I have pneumonia now.. it is no fun either. I went to the doc
yesterday and he said that he could not hear breath sounds in my right lung
and said he would like to put me in the hospital. I have yet to meet my
4000.00 deductible so I asked him if he could try to treat it aggressively
from home and then if I am not better then stick me in there. So far so
good.. after a shot of Roceftin and some take home meds and antibiotics. I
am doing allot better. I just think this lemon stuff might be soothing. I go
get checked again tomorrow so I think he will be pleased. I am doing better
and I feel like my lungs have opened up I am also on albuterol. That helps
but gives me the jitters. If anyone has the recipe then please let me know
how to make it. I think it has whiskey in it.???

Something like this?

Hot Toddy

    1  ounces Whiskey
    1 ounce Honey
     ounce Lemon Juice
    3 ounces Water (Hot)
If you have a microwave, the easiest way to make this drink is to warm
the honey and lemon juice for about half a minute and then to add hot
water and the whiskey. Otherwise, we recommend that you stir the honey
and lemon juice into extremely warm water, allow it to cool slightly,
and add the whiskey.

(I've also seen it mentioned that you can add this to a cup of tea to
make it taste better...)

Hope that helps

Dang - that didn't format well, let's try again...

Ingredients should read:

1 1/3 ounce Whiskey
1 ounce Honey
1/3 ounce Lemon Juice
3 ounces Water (Hot)

I searched "whiskey lemon congestion" on google and came up with lots
of hits - you may want to flip through a few more if this doesn't sound
like the recipe you're looking for.

Grandma used the juice of one lemon, a spoonful of honey and boiling water.
And a lot of determination to make me drink it before it got cold.

As far as I know it is just lemon juice whiskey and hot water.  About a
teaspoon of lenon juice, a jugger of booze and the rest water.
