Watch out for any bargain gel arthritis $1 rubs that have a menthol
percentage of 2.5--it'll knock you over if you smell it--be careful not
to rub your eyes, because it BURNS!

Bonnie,
My dad gets the arthritis cream from the VA and let me tell you it will run
you out of the house. I've begged him to use others that don't smell, but
he thinks they don't work unless they smell.

Then buy some Aspercream in the 1.25 oz. tube for him--and ask him to
try it. It don't smell at all. Rub it into the skin too.
That size tube should be under $5

Generic Aspercreme from Walmart or the local Drug store works just as well
and is cheaper.

Maybe maybe (store brand) would work, maybe they wouldn't.....Aspercream
(no smell) is what doctor recommended---IT DOES WORK. Sometimes you
can waste money on cheaper stuff and it won't work at all...buy smaller
size to sample it.
Sometimes.......cheaper isn't always better.
Got a 1.25 oz. tube in my coat pocket--I don't smell like a medicine
chest.

I got the equivalent to aspercreme from Wal-Mart...I read the ingredients
and they were identical....
You are correct...some store brands are the pits.

I like BioFreeze. It goes on cold, but then heats up rapidly. It only
smells while you're applying it, then the smell fades as quickly as the cold
temperature. They have a web site which I would look up for you, but I'm
feeling too lazy right now.

I like Mineral Ice and Sore No More. Not a cure, but, both are very
soothing.

The $1 gel is called Hot Ice (Family Dollar) . I'm gonna use it over
larger areas of body to use it up. STRONG menthol smell@ 2.5
percent--It'll clear the sinuses...lol
I Went on Sore-No-More site and asked for a free sample if it
And have several Aspercream (no smell to it) tubes in the hopper to last

I'm partial to Sore No More myself - just had to slather it all over my feet
and hands tonight. It's been a heck of a week, but I get to rest after PT
tomorrow. Tonight I had to double up on the tramadol and hit the SNM.
