I've been taking one injection a week since November 1st of Humira. All of
a sudden, my insurance co. will only let me have 6 packs every 75 days.
They said that's all they can approve since I'm on methotrexate. Has anyone
else heard of this? Is this a new criteria?Thnx

Hi Barb,
I've been on weekly injections since June 2004. I just got a new 90
order and got the full 12 shots.
Check with your doctors office. Find out who in the office deals with
the insurance companies. My doctor had to write a letter backing up my
need for weekly Humira when the every other week didn't work. Hope you
can get some help from your doctor.

Hi Barb,
Wow, so they are only authorizing 1 and 1/2 month's worth of the Rx?
Did your prescription change from every other week to weekly? If so,
did you forward a copy of the new 'script to the insurance company? It
sounds like they are approving 3 month's supply for every other week
(or is my math completely off?).
My insurance had changed it's "mail order" policy, but not the policy
about picking up at the pharmacy (I was told *that* had changed too).
Do you go through mail order?
If not, I'd suggest calling your insurance, and speaking to a
supervisor, and ask them to explain it better. It's also possible that
they changed it effective the first of year, to coincide with the new
insurance year, but that would also require a call to the company.
I hope that everything gets squared away quickly, the last thing we
need is worry about medication.
