hi folks!

susie has had wonderful results with the very aggressive therapy for the
rsd in left foot ankle - now down to one day a month for therapy unless
it flares up too bad.

now it's off to find plain old regular pt to try to build up strength
and flexibility in left foot/leg - so things are looking much better for
her at this time.

for myself - i'm in pt 3 mornings a week. m-w-f start at 8 am - two
hours of pt guinea pig: whirlpool, electro, traction, heat, shots, you
name it, then i go home and collapse

since i last posted about right shoulder and arm, the left one also
started to tighten up and when looked at - adhesions there also. so...

since i am willing to try 'bout anything to not go under the knife
again, it has been numb shoulder and elbow up - break lose as much of
the adhesion as i can stand, and then pt work to lengthen ligs and
tendons and trying to keep things freed up.

in the six weeks have gone from almost no rom function to being able to
get my arm 8 inchs out from torso, and raised to just below mid chest
level

yeah!!!!!!!!!!!

still cannot reach back, twist the arm, or reach straight out,  but what
the heck - each week i get a little more back. and just as important to
me - each little bit helps on the virtually constant pain,

now i'm spending more time in bed at night, than in the chair  - and
that has been a long time coming.

damn pred ...put on more than 30 lbs at waist in just 3 months from it.
but will try to taper back later - right now just keep working on
shoulders and elbows.

since i'm there so much anyway, pt decided to also work on sciatic that
has been flared up so long. no real progress so far, but time'll tell on
that also.

anywho - just thought i give an update

time for a nap

Paul,

I need a nap now after reading your post.  LOL  It sounds like they are
putting you through the wringer, but with good results.  Hope it keeps up.

Ouch.  I feel for you.  Went through that about 10 years ago.  That's
why I went and _immediately_ started having my shoulder injected this
time around, then did all those same ROM exercises in the hottub in
an attempt to keep the shoulder from freezing up again.

Good going.  Hopefully you'll keep making progress.

Hah.  I finally got my shoulder to heal (the Humira is what did that),
and the evil prednisone finally reared up and bit me hard.  I'm back
to sleeping in a chair because I broke a rib coughing!  Though at least
this time, my PCP isn't arguing about my painkiller usage.  There just
really isn't much to argue about with that set of xrays...

Congratulations on being able to sleep lying down again.  I'm starting
to miss that after only a couple days, but the difference in my pain
levels is too obvious for me to ignore.  Good thing my mother agreed
to lend me this very comfortable wingback chair (after I tipped over my
office chair, George wouldn't let me sleep in it anymore).

I am glad to hear that Susie has wonderful results with the left foot ankle.
I am glad her RSD is doing better that way.

Boy it sure sounds like they are keeping you busy and active. I hope things
