The very first thing you should do is keep your doctor fully informed of
your condition.
You have on going pressure on nerves. Any suggestion anyone gives you
could make things worse. One more important things is that on going
pressure on nerve causes damage that sometimes cannot be healed or regained
from lack of pressure. What you have described is serious and needs to be
taken care of by your doctor or if you do not get relief from this, I
suggest another doctor.

ask your doctor for a PT referral. There are stretches they can teach you
that should help some with the pains and nerve stuff (that's the pins and
needles). You might also ask about traction - both at physical therapy and
at home. Traction stretches things out to ease pressure on the nerves.
A chiropractor might be able to help some, but I don't know how long an
adjustment will last in the presence of OA.
While it seems that it happened quickly, this has almost certainly been
developing for some time. It's just that the situation in your neck finally
reached the point of putting strain on the muscles and nerves. You need pros
to help you out here. I've had neck issues for years and it's important to
learn the right things to do for your particular situation from the folks who
know.

After you have been seen by a specialist and had the proper tests, etc then
you might want to try cortisone injections. I had one in each side of my
neck in the back area. It was given just under the skin, didn't go real
deep. It was some of the best relief I'd had in years. This was over a
year ago and it is still helping. This is just a suggestion you can talk to
your doc about. I don't know if this would help or not.
