OK guys, no turning back for me.  I've called my uncle (how convienent) who
lives in Bradenton and he said I could stay w/him.

I am excited!  I hope that I get to meet many of you during this time.  KJ I
just want you to know that I am excited about meeting you and Kimmy.  I hope
nothing has changed with your plans for coming.  You are both special to us.

Donna G. are you going to be there?  I will have to go back and check the
list to see who else is coming.  See you there!

I forgot to mention, after the lady told me there might be a wait in line up
to two hours I requested a wheelchair.  This was really hard for me to do.
I've not had to do it before.  I don't "look" sick and I can just imagine
what people will think when they see me being whizzed past everyone.
However, I do want to enjoy the weekend and I don't want to take any chances
that I will flare.  Just something that has been on my mind since getting
the tickets.

A two hour wait for a wheelchair at the airport????  I don't think so.
When I go to leave from Orlando Airport, they have them lined up by the
dozen at the departure area Oh - you are flying into another airport. I
forgot. If you get there and can't get a wheelchair, tip a bellman to
go upstairs and grab one for you from the departure area.  I've always
had one for me when I got off the plane as well. They ask you to wait
till everyone else is off the plane, and then they have someone there
waiting with it when I get off. Make sure you tell the flight
attendents to phone ahead for it. From the time you get to the airport
for your departure and to everyone who you show your ticket to, tell
them you need a wheelchair when you get there. That always works for me
no matter where I am traveling to.

Hi Debbie,

I wouldn't worry too much about using the wheelchair at the airport.   I
did that when I went to the boston gimpfest last spring and was really
glad I did.   Duckie had kind of talked me in to it and it really does
make a big difference with conserving your energy and stamina.    People
don't really stare at you either as there are so many others being
pushed around in wheelchairs that it seemed pretty common stuff.   I
think in the end you'll be glad you made that decision.

As far as the florida gimpfest goes, it is still my hope to be there,
but with all the new lung stuff that has come up, things are a bit
unsure at this point!    Even if I don't make it, trust me, you will
have an absolutely fantastic time!!!

Hugs!

Thanks Debbie! I plan on being there, money permitting. I really need a
gimp fix!
