Well...still feeling cruddy.  But my RD called and talked to me and I
told him I could not see the pulmonologist till the 22nd.  He said
just from talking to me on the phone that my lungs were getting worse.
A simple conversation takes my breath away.

He upped my steroid pills and started my Advair again.  He said
pulmonary lupus can be hard to control....I told him that I knew that
from the last time I had it for months.  I feel much worse this time.
So bedrest for me....

So that is where I am at with this stuff....

I'm thinking of hiring a temporary cleaning lady.  Or telling my kiddo
that I would rather pay him and see what he says.  The maid services
want to clean the whole house and charge by the square foot.  I only
need the bathroom (no tubs/showers) and kitchen counters and floors
cleaned.  They all want to clean my bedrooms and every single bathroom
and areas we don't use....its a waste in my opinion.

Hopefully I can find someone.

Luv ya guys!

Janet, I hope you can find a good cleaning lady too.  You must do as your
Dr. says and get the bed rest you need.  Do pray this won't last long.

A dear friend has had bouts of pulmonary lupus and I know how frightening
they are and how important it is to get on top of it ASAP.  Glad to hear your
RD is working on it.

Good luck with the cleaning lady.  I'd come do it, if I lived closer  :)

Oh, and my friend mysteriously went into remission after a major back injury
last year.  Go figure.

Do you have a Home Instead in a location near you? I
have someone from them visit my brother once a month
and take him out for the day.
My mother is now having someone from them come to her
every other week for 3 hours. That lady runs the vacuum
in her bedroom [under the bed where the regular
housekeeper doesn't bother to look]; change her sheets;
run all the laundry except for her undies; and take her
to the grocery. While at grocery, the aide puts all
into the cart, puts the stuff on the belt, puts the
groceries into the car, and then takes them out,
carries them upstairs and puts them all away. In
Nashville, they were charging $16 an hour but that
might have changed [have not seen a bill recently]. I
know in the Boston area, the price is much higher.
Don't have any affiliation yada yada yada...

They will come once or they will come more than once.
Sounds like you could use a respite type service and
keep your sanity.
Hope that helps.

Hope that works well for you. Think it was originally
designed so that children could have a pair of eyes on
elderly parents living in another state. My mother has
a friend who has them come in to look at her clothes to
check for stains and spots as she is blind and can't
tell what is clean and what is dirty. As she has gotten
older she has her do more now.

My county's Area Agency for Aging and Mid-City Senior
Enterprises (aka ElderHelp)  has a "shoppers" program
that's FREE.  Several church organizations have handyman
services for seniors/disabled.

My mother's HMO paid for a "helper" twice a week.  She
did the laundry, dusting, shopping, etc. etc.   I suspect the
HMO figured it was cheaper than paying for long-term
residental care.

I didn't know you had pulmonary lupus. My heart goes out to you sweetie. I
hope things are healing up quickly for you.

I hope you can get a temp cleaning lady to help you out.
