I went to see my RD again today. I got a steroid shot in each shoulder. I also received a prescription for Enbrel in the once a week form. I found out that I was one week early for my appointment but he saw me anyway my other appointment was cancelled because of his migraine headache and everyone received the same treatment and I nearly had my wife drive me there. I could not get out of bed almost. The Remicade is cancelled due to my reaction to it. Now,,,,, its all about will Enbrel kick in again... We shall see. I know I have missed a great deal in the lives of so many here and I am sorry for that. Just give me some time to catch up,,,, to recover from feverless pneumonia(sp) and the changes in life that we all have to deal with. Thank all of you for your welcome back. The Enbrel will be delivered at my home Friday and as the blind man says,, we shall see. I say it that way because sooo many things in life,,, we have no control over and in my life,,, if it be thy will Lord. I do have my hopes up and I do realize that restarting DMARDs sometimes does not work as well. Been there, done that. Harv Harv. Very sorry to hear that you are suffering again. Hopefully the steroid shoulder shots will relieve the pain there. You did OK on enbrel before, so let's hope it does the trick this time. Think of you. Donna G Thank you and you are right because I got the same speeeeech from the wife this morning. I just have to let things go for awhile. It is like what Janet said to KJ on another thread, things to do will still be there when I am more able to do my best with them and feeling better. You can not know how embarrassed I was at the doctors office when I had to be told I was there on the wrong day by a week. When I realized what was taking place when the RD brought me right in and listened to what I had to say and told me how many of my joints were hot and started laying out the stuff for the shots I had asked for. I was so happy that something was being done but then I realized that someone else was sitting on the exam table in another room wondering what was taking the doctor so long. So it goes when you are in enough pain that the big " its about me " becomes more important than waiting your turn, coming on the right day, putting the pressure on my RD who was too pale from dealing with migraine and the stress of doing what he does and the business he is in. You are your own best friend and advocate. If that doc truly did not have time for you he would have said something. You have a very caring doc and he knew you needed treatment. Yes, someone else was waiting, but one day they will need immediate help and someone else will have to wait...what comes around goes around. It all balances out in the end. The fact that your RD saw you anyway shows how much he cares, how much you needed treatment that day AND that he thought he could handle fitting you in today.
