Back from the hospital!

Guess what I had?  Lung inflammation just like I TOLD THEM I HAD!  Had
to stay a day longer so they can tell my heart is fine?!

And the cruddy part....I still feel like doo-doo.  I'm calling my
pulmonologist tomorrow and taking lots of steroids.

The trip to the hospital was quite unnecessary...and my husband told
them that...but they insisted it could be my heart.

Well anyhoo....I got oxygen while I was there and that did improved
things.  I am going to be quite hard-pressed to get put back in the
hospital.  I had taken all my own Rx...and good thing.  They couldn't
keep a simple list of all my meds and the 3 of the 11 they did
remember...they doubled the doses.  I had to refuse any pills from
those folks...  But no pain meds...what's up with that?  They said I
was already on ultracet and shouldn't be in pain?  I said if it were
killing my pain I would be there...duh?!

Had every heart test imaginable....not a single lung test?  Didn't I
mention to them that my LUNGS hurt?  I was short of breath and
couldn't walk across a room?  Fortunately...I have a pulmonologist I
will call tomorrow and he can now easily rule out heart stuff.

I took one of those "medicine" stress test on my heart.  Evidently I
am that rare souls that has a bad reaction to that "medicine" they
inject into you to stimulate your heart.  I now know what a possible
heart attack feels like....bad stuff!  I came too and they had wet
towels all over my face and shaking me a little.  I will do the tread
mill next time!

Ok...I'm bummed and feel like crudola.  My husband is pretty concerned
tonight....and ticked off about this hosp. stay.

Did I mention I had the roommate from hell?  She didn't want to go
home....she wanted more test.  She INSISTED that she had a heart
attack at age 35....and the test were WRONG.  The powers that be came
in our room this morning and told her that insurance cut her $$$ off
and she had to go!  She threw a tizzy...and the men in the business
suits said "Buh-bye lady".

Time for me to go to bed.  I need to cuddle up with my sweetheart...he
is kinda upset that they didn't look into the problem at all.  I will
be back online tomorrow...and will catch up with post then!

Thanks for the thoughts and prayers!

Hi Janet,   I surely hope that you do not have what I had.   I became so
short of breath that I thought it was my time to go and that lasted for a
week or more.   I also have a pulmonologist because of the TB and if your is
sharp,,, you will get some answers.   By the way,,, all those tests from the
pulmo guy cost over $1200 and like your heart tests are just as costly.

Oooh,  I don't know,,, I think you took the right one.   If you have any
problems at all from your feet to your hips or even the lower back,,, the
mill will make your problem shine like a light bulb and they are able to get
the same answers the chemical way.

Wellll, I can understand that on several levels and one of them is guilt
that he has not been paying enough attention to your problems.

Hi Janet!

Glad to see you home, but sorry to hear your hospital stay turned out to
be more stressful than helpful!

Sending prayers that you heal and get to feeling better real quick.   I
had pericarditis and pleurisy last january and that can be sooooo
painful and uncomfortable.    Praying that the pulmonologist gets you
well on the road to feeling better!   Hang in there and keep us posted
as to how you  make out!

{{{{{Janet}}}}}  Sounds like you definely need rest after that hospital
stay. But when you are rested, please be sure to call the patient
advocate for the hospital and let them know exactly what happened and
how unhappy you were with your stay. I had a similar experience when I
was in the hospital in 2000.  They too didn't give me my meds,
including pain meds.  I must not have been the only person to complain,
because that same hospital has much better service now. It's been going
thru changes the past three years and I don't see the same kinds of
problems there now. Mom's been there at least 10 times in the past year
and they are really getting it together. So please, when you are
feeling up to it, complain. you never know when you might have to go in
again! In fact, when I called the patient advocate, they gave me the
name of a contact person to call if I went in to the hospital again. I
contacted them when Mom went in and all was wonderful.  Hang in there
and feel better.  Diane W
