Feb 4th is right at the 3 month point and that is my
first dance lesson. I also signed up for another
reformer [pilates on a machine] class and that starts
Jan 24th. I told my PT that I was jumping the gun for
that by a week and she said that she felt I was strong
enough and I also knew by body well enough that she
wasn't worried. Just take it easy. So I am excited.
I have an appointment on the 24th to have my ingrown
toenails cut away permanently which is making me
nervous but I was having to do that on a temp basis
once a month which sucked so that will be better. I
asked the doctor how long before I could dance and he
said a week so it worked out well.
The new knee is not fond yet on going down stairs but
it is getting stronger. That is the only place I notice
pain now is when I let the left leg go first and the
right one has to hold me - twinge ouch. But that is the
only complaint I can give I guess. :)

Duckie, you learn with hips for the good leg to go first going up and the
bad one go first going down.  I still have to do that.

I still sometimes mutter to myself "Up with the good leg, down with the bad
leg"

When Charlie was injured last year I was saying it outloud a lot.

Down with the bad leg is the one I tend to forget.  Seems like it is taking
your weight.  But it is taking your weight straight and not bent.

I still have the military habit of leading with the left,
whether going up, down, or straight.

Yep -- that was what I had been doing but they are now
trying to make the new knee stronger. I noticed this
morning that I was going down much easier and today I
was able to do it at PT on the regulation 6" step
instead of a 4" one. See getting stronger. :)

Well Duckie, I have this picture in my head of you dancing off  into the
moonlight. ;-)

How did the toenail appt go. Are you doing ok with it.

I hope the knee is healing more and more each day.

Good thoughts coming your way too.

Toenails got a smile from the one week check up
yesterday with an okay to go into the public swimming
pool so I take that as a good sign. :)
Went to my first Reformer class [pilates on equipment]
yesterday. It was my first exercise [not counting the
PT] since before the surgery. I am tired and sore today
but in a good way.
Friday is the 3 month point and that is when I will
dance. It won't be good but it will clear my
depression. I actually heard a bird singing today. That
is always a good sign.
Life is pretty good.

Glad your toenails got a smile. HOpe they are doing so much better and as
well as  your knee.

I hope your dancing is going well and not hurting you too much.
