Ok, I just gave myself my first shot of Enbrel. It's one of the miracle meds
for auto-immune diseases that have come out in the past decade or so, given
by shot, generally once a week. What a joy to finally have GOOD insurance
again and to have this well covered! Man, oh man, I hope it works.
Sticking the needle in myself was much easier than I expected. In fact, it
initially went in fairly deep because I thought it would take more force!
But, as I told them at my doctor's office, with a brother who's a Type 1
diabetic, I can hardly complain about a once a week shot! And while the shot
stung a bit, it was much less than many allergy injections I've received in
the past. Over all, I'll be happy to do this once a week if I get the kind
of results lots of you have. Man, if this works and I can get off some of
the other meds........ if I can dump that Arava and the poops! I'm hoping,
I'm hoping..........
Oh, and this silly, damn, prefilled syringe says to discard it and get a new
syringe if you get blood on your drawback. Do they honestly expect people to
just toss hundreds of dollars of meds like that? Give me a break. Doctors
office told me just to try another spot.

Oh, and lest you think I'm nuts for explaining what Enbrel is, much of the
post was copied from my email to my family and I forgot to edit that part :)

I took imitrix a few times by needle, with one of those auto-injector
things. Yours sound much easier!

I'm so happy for you Nann!!!! I hope it works miracles for ya!!!
BTW, I got my new sunny Birks today!! They're not as bright as I
thought they would be. Actually, the color is a lot more neutral than
I had thought. Have you received yours yet?

Mine came today, too. Yeah, the color is so calm and subtle, now I'm wishing
I had bought two pairs! But, I really won't wear them out for some time up
here, so I've successfully talked myself out of placing another order - so
far.
Can't figure why they were on such a great sale, but I'm not complaining!
