Dear Folks,

Many of you will remember that I was recently diagnosed with cancer.  Tomorrow
I am going for my initial visit.  I am a bit anxious about starting the
treatment.  But my real concern is knowing what treatment is best for me.  I am
going to the MD Anderson Hospital here in Houston so I'm sure that they'll give
me all of my options.

Keep me and the doctor in your prayers,

Vickie B.

Done, Vickie.  I've heard a lot of good about MD Anderson, without even
having been in Houston.  I'm sure you'll be in good hands.

Sending prayers and strength!

My Mom said she had a hard time understanding all of the protocols and
making a choice because she got kind of numb emotionally and couldn't pay
attention. It's apparently kind of common. Can you bring someone with you,
to listen and take notes? And remember, you don't have to choose which
option right then and there if you are unsure. You can go home and research
on the web.

Well, I've been scheduled for a northern route complete hysterectomy on Jan 24.
The doctor thinks that even if there is more found that it still will be small
enough and easily removed so that chemo will not be needed.  We don't really
expect to have to do much more than this!  I am listed as high risk due to this
disease and diabetes but she thinks it will be OK.  I'm feeling ok about this
right now and need to arrange stuff for the almost six weeks that I will be out
of commission.  (now that's a mother talking)  But my kids no longer need
constant supervision and they are a tremendous help!

Thanks for so much,

Vickie B.

Good that it is still small and that you will not need chemo and etc.

My continued prayers will be said for a speedy recovery with no
further complications.

That sounds very hopeful!

Post-op, go ahead and take whatever pain meds you need to help you move
around.  You'll recuperate better with a reasonable amount of movement.
