Bit breezy tonight folks.. so windy that our "coolie hat" on the top of our
chimney blew off but luckily landed inside the boat. Thankfully our boat is
moored up nice and tight but even so the sides have been taking a bit of a
battering with the gales and she's been bobbing a bit. Poor hubby was out
raking dead leaves and twigs on the side of our mooring but I think it will
be all to no avail in the morning.
Went for a cruise the other day and had a wondeful time. the baot is coming
along nicely and should be having the kitchen fitted out in the next few
days along with the gas supply. It will be lovely to be able to have a
cooked meal from yours truely instead of the *ding* meals we have been
living on for months. I have the bathroom to tile in the next few days and
will announce when I have a home shower again! Just think, no doing the
*tight cheek tango* down to the loo LOL. will have me own throne once again!
Went out collecting fallen branches earlier today and spent an hour hacking
at them but the smell as they burn off is well worht the trouble.
Oh well, back to wobbling with he wind. Regards ConnieD

Connie, please keep these reports coming in. I am in sore need of humor
right now. The blustery cold weather has me in a bit of a funk. I don't
usually get the SAD that my mom does, but this winter is working on it.

Your posts are little rays of sunshine, sent from over the pond and down the
canal.

When's the maiden voyage to New York? I won a passage in steerage in a
game of cards and would like to board at Southampton....

It's so much fun to read about your adventures!  You really have a way with
words, you know.  And your description of the joys of accessing a loo remind
me a lot of camping.  (the DH complains about having to move several steps
away from the tent when he gets up in the middle of the night - I have NO
patience with that as I walk up to 1/4 mile to sit on a cold porcelian seat!)

Let's see, if I can get on the evening flight out of Alpena, I could be over
there to help you with the tiling by, oh, Monday evening your time.  I love
tile and tiling for some reason, from basic floors to elaborate mosaics.  But
I'd have to miss our Monday swim and the weather's been pretty iffy for
driving AND flying, so maybe I should stay put..........

((((Jo))))

You always pick up those little things, don't you? I looked back to see the
date of that post and noticed it was the 1st. I was really tired after
Christmas and the New Year. I work in retail and was exhausted on New year's
day, so feeling a bit strung out and not too jovial.

I am much better now, thanks. Slowly recovering from stress and the tendency
to run amok around the holidays.
