The story begins:
This year, when Vienna novelist Diane Chamberlain circulated her family's
Secret Santa list, she added her boyfriend's name to the expanding roster of
relations at their Christmas gathering: her ex-husband and his wife, her
former mother-in-law, her three ex-stepdaughters and their partners, and a
brand-new ex-stepgrandson, 9-month-old Nolan. Exes' Old Acquaintances Not
Forgotten

NOW we know what John looks like. Diane seems to be a magnet for the
good-looking ones! We met David about 6 or 7 years ago when we had a DC
gimp dinner over in VA. I can't wait to get to meet John.

hi guys,
here i am, the "vienna novelist" herself, or as i've been referring to myself
today, the blimp in the pix. geesh. hate those wide angle lenses. and john
looks like he's as wide as he is tall. but leaving vanity aside, i thought the
reporter did a nice job with the article. i am so happy and fortunate to belong
to this family!

Hi Diane,
You *don't* look like a blimp. We had our first Blended Family
Christmas this year, 34 years after the divorce. It was weard
hearing my sister & my X talking about way back then.

i thought it was a good article, too. soooo many forms of blended families.
that they really can have amicable relationships is atributable, i think, to
people becoming more heart-centered about this. kinda nice to finally see
it being recognized as a valuable part of the main stream.

neat-o, Diane's in the news again!
sounds like Christmas at my mom's - they had my mom, brother and
sister-in-law, my stepdaughter and son-in-law, my sister and her
ex-boyfriend, now dear friend who is going through a divorce, a family friend
with no kin in the area and a family friend who was semi-adopted by us about
20 years and one wife ago.......... It makes for an interesting Christmas!
We've really missed being there the last 2 years, but expect to make it down
again starting next year.
