I just ruined someone's afternoon.

Wasn't my fault I swear.  You all know what parking is like today.  I'd been
waiting quite a while for someone to load up their stuff and leave a
handicap spot.  As they pulled out another car tried to pull in.  Most of
the time I swear I'd have just let them have the spot.  But I was there
first by a long shot, I needed that spot, and I HAD to go potty.  Not for
nothing I grew up back east.  Nobody steals a parking spot from me if I
don't want them too.

Anyway she rolled down her window and yelled at me.  And left a nasty note
on my car.  And I'm sure thinks I'm just a horrible person.  I really don't
think she saw me where I was waiting for the space and probably was upset
enough that she only saw I didn't have a blue hang tag.  Just a handicapped
space.

When you gotta go, you gotta go!  You did nothing wrong.  Next time, though,
stick your placard in her face and tell her you have just as much need for
it as she does.

I did that. I was waiting for a bay, and there was an elderly lady
waiting for the same bay, but we could not see her. Her tiny car was
obscured by a big SUV at the time. So she starts honking and waiving her
placard at us, like because my wife and I aren't ancient like her we
couldn't possibly need to use the bay. So I let her have the bay if she
was going to have a coronary about it, gently raised my placard for her
to see, and then gently raised my finger to let her know that she was
number one in my book :-)

I'm going to die rather sooner than I'd like. I tried to protect my
neighbours from crime, and became the victim of it. To jump to the end
of the story, as a result of this I need a bone marrow transplant. Many
people around the world are waiting for a marrow transplant, too. Please
volunteer to be a marrow donor:

nahhh, you aren't and you didn't.  she simply found another parking space
and did what she needed to do (and probably also to release some the
pressure she had been feeling before you even got there).
