Why would my PCP's office call two days before Christmas to say "He got your
latest labs from your RD and needs you to come in and discuss them. He'll see
you next Weds."

Gee thanks! Now I get to spend my Christmas wondering what the hell is wrong
now. I am pretty sure he isn't making me come in to say "Good job! Your labs
look great!"

They couldn't have waited till Monday to call me? Sheeesh!!!!

Perhaps your RD would have called you if there had been a problem.

My PCP orders additional bloodwork that is drawn at the RD's so I get stuck
less often. RD won't call about labs ordered by the PCP.

Dame!!! That's a bummer KJ. Why didn't they just wait until Tuesday
afternoon. Maybe they don't observe holidays. Especially Christmas.

Now, come on KJ.  How many times have we all complained about NOT getting
these calls?  Your PCP did exactly what we want them all to do, they called
as soon as they saw there was a possible problem.  Were it my PCP, I would
have dropped over from shock!

You also know from your own clinical experience that, if it were something
major, you would have been told to come in yesterday.  So relax and enjoy
Christmas and be thankful your PCP is on the ball.

Walt, you are such a blessing to this group!  You are so good at weighing in
with a gentle voice of reason when we really need it (among your other gifts,
this is the one you're using here).

that IS frustrating. i got the call yesterday to call about my bloodwork.
fortunately my doc was still in. white blood count low, so i can't have my
remicade infusion. i was already a week late in getting it, and i'm feeling the
pain. and all the visiting family is sneezing in my face.

sorry for the wait, kj. i hope it's no big deal.

Do you think they'd be offended if you gave out surgical masks for
Christmas?

Hope you get some relief soon,

Tine I wouldn't be too concerned like everyone else says if it was really
urgent he would have done something immediately. The nurse probably was
trying to get her phone calls done before the holidays.
Merry Christmas and have a great holiday

Timing sucked, KJ.  Not that there's a good time to get that kind of
call...  Hope it's some nit-picky little thing.  I've had doctor's
offices that wouldn't give me any info over the phone, and had to go in
to find out everything was fine, or at least that it was no different
than the last several times.  Still scratching my head over that one.

Gee, guess what I found out two days ago, speaking of timing.  Hubby has
next week off - without pay.  :(   Apparently that's standard for this
company, but don't you think that would have been nice to know 6 months
ago when he started there?  Timing...

Sorry to jump in on your thread, but I'm kinda hoping it goes unnoticed,
but also hoping it doesn't.  Inconsistent, double-minded, wishy-washy.
 All of the above?

Have a good holiday anyway.  {{{{KJ}}}}

Denise
