Hi!
Silly question, but does anyone have their pain and stiffness go away after
having a fever?
Had a killer cold starting Sunday night. Had a mild fever. Thursday I
noticed I'm moving more easily and with less pain than I have in months
(since switching off Vioxx to Relafen).
Is this an RA thing?

Yup - any infection makes everything better. Unfortunately it comes back
with a vengence after. But it is nice while it last.

Yes. Something about the body having something real to attack to it leave
the joints alone. For a while.

Mine doesn't go away after I've been sick, it goes away while I am sick. I have
a killer cold right now and my joints feel better than they have in months. Of
course, I am too miserable from the cold to enjoy it! LOL

Many people have said that "Arthur" takes a break when they get sick.
Some think that the auto-immune system is so busy fighting the germs that
it can't attack the body???!!!
You're a nice person, please take care...

Adelle,
I can honestly say that the only time my over active RA went into any
form of remission was after I had surgery for septic arthritis in my
left knee. Except for surgery pain, that was the absolute best 3.5 to
4 months of my RA life. My doctors took me off all the medication for
RA, because they didn't want any immune suppressants working against
the PICC line and antibiotics. Almost makes me wish it would happen
again... Almost.

Seems to me yes is the answer -- and what are you doing
up cooking after being sick...??

Huh? I cook when I'm sick, I cook when I'm well. I don't understand the
question. ;-)

happens to me all the time with a cold. I actually enjoy a mild cold! I
feel so much better otherwise, it more than compensates for *mild* cold
symptoms. On the other hand, the flaming stomch bug that hit me Monday night
came with pain that my Ultram couldn't touch.
The downside is the pain and stiffness usually return when the cold leaves.
