Tery Jones was on the 2000 Christmas card list.
Some of us have been adding old lists - even this
summer 2004 postcard list - to the current (2004)
Christmas card list.
A note was received by Squirley Jo (who is too
shaken to post) from Tery's mother that Tery
(born 1959) died December 15, 2002.
She's survived by husband Jeff Jones and a (now)
10-year-old daughter.

Thanks Joe for posting this! How sad to hear this news. I remember
Tery and pray that her family is doing well. Another arthritis warrior
watching over us!

I thought Tery left us in 2002? I remember lighting a candle for her it seems
like this time of year, close to Christmas several years ago. Am I thinking of
the wrong person?

Actually Jeanette had posted this at that time. Some of us may
remember, but I think it was one of those things that may have slipped
past. Thanks for reminding us Joe.

Here are some of the posts related to that:
cut/pasted from three different posts from Dec. 16th, 2002.
From Jeannette:
I have come to deliver some of the saddest news. Tery, a long time
member of this group and dear friend of mine died this weekend in her
sleep in her home in Jacksonville, Florida.
For those of you who can not place Tery, she posted first I believe
from AOL under the username 'TJONES500' and more recently with the
username 'Peppergirl'
Apparently Tery died from peritonitis/direticulitis. She had been
having problems for a number of days and her mom wanted her to go to
the hospital. She said if she did not feel better by Sunday, she would
go to the hospital. She died Saturday night/Sunday a.m. in her sleep.
I sent her all of your blessings. If anybody wants, they can make a
contribution to the arthritis foundation in honor of Tery Jones.

Thanks for posting this Joe,
I am so sorry others knew about it and I mentioned it now. I just got a
Christmas card from her mother and she wrote about it.
She sent me the In Memory Of Card, if someone who was close to her would
like it I could send it to them. I didn't know her much. But I was sending
her Christmas cards and this was the first I knew about it.
So sorry to all of you for the mix up.
I have had a really emotional today and asked Joe to post this for me since
all I was doing was crying and having my moments. So once again sorry about
the mixup.
Mary, her mom wrote that they are still devastated by it all.
By the way it was a boy not daughter. I reread what they said in the card.

Love and hugs to all
Good thoughts coming your way too.

Generally, I think it's a good idea to use this year's list only. For
things like this, as well as that people may have intentionally not signed
up this year for whatever reason, and simply may not want the cards.
While your intentions are nothing but good, I think it's probably smart to
just stick to the current list.
