The National Cancer Institute states it used 2,000 patients in a study to
see if Celebrex prevented colon polyps and colorectal cancer.

1/3 received a placebo

1/3 received 400mg daily

1/3 received 800mg daily

There were 6 "cardiac events" among those given a placebo

There were 15 among those receiving 400mg

There were 20 among those receiving 800mg

From this, is was ascertained that those receiving 400mg had 2.5 times a
risk of a "cardiac event" and those who received 800mg had 3.4 times the
risk.
