Dear friends ~

I haven't been around in a while.  Since I've been gone there have
been over 16,000 messages here!

It's been kind of rough.  Some of y'all may remember that I had both
of my hips replaced and both knees 'scoped earlier this year.  The
first one went fine.  The second one was a different story.  I feel
like I am still getting over that.

Now the doc wants to shoot my back up with steroids (I'm putting this
off for fear of it becoming a regular thing).

I'll lurk for a while before joining into conversations.

But I just wanted to wish everyone here Happy Holidays.

Take care.

Well said....  You are smart to respect steroids and have them only when
really needed but they serve a purpose and a person can have 3=4 a year but
most doctors will not do one joint that many times.   I had my right knee
done twice and it was never needed again in that joint.
Using a steroid shot in your back could reduce inflammation enough that
pressure is taken off of your nerve trunk and that would be a good thing.
Please talk to you doctor again and find out more.   Pressure on nerves can
cause permanent damage if its there long enough.

I had one 8 months ago that worked wonders on my ribcage pain.

Had another early this month that worked about 3 days.  Now I'm
right back at step 1.  <g>

welcome back, Happy Holidays to you too and I hope you make great strides in
getting over all you've had done this year.  May 2005 be a better year for
you!
