Pity Pfizer have withdrawn it, due to the similarity to the deadly
Vioxx, in possibly contributing to Coronary Failures.

Please show me some information that confirms what you have poested
above. There have been no media reports about celebrex being
withdrawn, to the best of my knowledge.

you're right, rose.  celebrex hasn't been withdrawn.   i believe bextra
isn't being withdrawn either, but it will have a blackbox warning on it.

You're right, but because Vioxx, Bextra and Celebrex all are COX II
inhibitors, my Physician will not prescribe them.
The FDA jury is still out on Bextra and Celebrex and my tip is the
Verdict will be "WITHDRAWN"!!
Most patients who used any of the above are now being prescribed
Mobic, which is really just another NSAID.

They are slightly different formulas so the problem with vioxx doesn't apply to
bextra & celebrex.

Then it is up to you to goto http://www.fda.gov/medwatch/index.html
& get the latest information for your doctor.

Nope, it has been on the news that warnings will be put on the labels & that is
all.

Does anyone but me find it almost funny that doctors are so reluctant
to prescribe narcotic painkillers because of the "dangers" involved,
and yet they turn out to be some of the safest?(98% of those prescribed
narcotics for pain do NOT become addicted) - I say almost because I
can't seem to get effective pain relief at all. In my limited
experience with narcotics, they seem to be very effective, and aside
from some mild lightheadedness, have few side effects.

Aw, heck, why not bring up medicinal marijuana now, too? Hehehe. I'm
for it. Why not? If artifical painkillers will make your heart explode,
and narcotics are prescribed, why not pot, when it can be effective to
many who need it? HERE'S THE THING: Whichever side people are on, it
tends to be based on their thoughts of cannabis as an intoxicant. The
arguments against in in court tend to be statistics of drug use in
general, too many people who are for it just want to have a reason to
smoke it and get high. Don't flame me. Read the news. Of course, there
are exceptions. I've seen people on chemo(my mother) who were in
intense pain and had such nausea they couldn't eat solid food for
weeks.

I have tried it while self-medicating, as doctors don't seem to want to
help around where I am. I never would have had I been told the truth
about it - the best argument against pot that I've heard from the media
came from South Park of all places! "Pot makes you feel fine with being
bored. It's when you're bored that you should be learning something new
or taking up a new hobby. You do pot too much, and you may find later
on that you're not good at anything."

Here's the truth. Pot is not the answer to all of the world's problems.
Neither will it rape your grandparents. And beer is the gateway drug.

BTW when I did try it, it helped with nausea, but I noticed my pain a
whole lot more.

that's super news, chief.
