Hello everyone and my apologies for being away so long. I love this group
but have been so busy have had very little time to participate.
First of all, I (although retired from teaching) have begun teaching
Computer classes 2 days a week at a school in my area, grades K through 8. I
am loving it! It keeps me very busy, not only preparing, but also maintaining
a web site for the school. (The link is below in my signature.).  I have
also been taking online courses in Photography and painting.

I have been going along on 0.6 ml of the MTX once a week and don't have the
severe pain I had in the beginning although my hands are anything but good.
I have learned to be very careful about how I carry heavy things or find
that I suffer severe pain in my hands that keeps me awake nights for several
days after.  All I need do is remember the agony of that, makes me carry
things right!!!

Here is something strange, I think, but wonder what you all have
experienced:
Several times, a severe attack of pain gets into my shoulder (Left side, not
both) or elbow, so severe I cannot get clothes on or off with out some help
accompanied by some swelling. Lasts for 3 or 4 days and then goes away. I
recognize it as the RA type of pain that I have experienced. To be sure,
when my RA started, it began with that shoulder. Anyway, I will be seeing my
doctor on the 22nd and will ask him about it.

I hope all of you are as well as can be expected and I hope to check in more
often than I have and thank Squirrely Jo for getting me back here!

Hi Joanne,    Welcome back,,,, Yes, I have had my hands the same way,
shoulders, elbows too. You are very smart to watch how you use an area that
is the worst because I believe that the use of that area causes the most
damage.   The bad news about this is that it could be your feet or knees
next which must be used in your work next.  Its all about control and you
might have to increase the amount of Methx you take or add another DMARD to
the mix but that is for you and your RD to work out.

Joanne,

No apologies needed we know how it is. Good luck with your work and your
health too. I am thinking of you all the time even if I dont say so. ;-)

Oh that shoulder stuff is a pain where a pill can't reach. ;-)

Now I am being funny here. So please don't take any offense.

Yep, I dragged her here kicking and screaming. She made me give her all my
choc. just so I could get her back in here. Whoops that was me kicking and
screaming because I wanted my choc. back.
(OK running and hiding before someone finally does slap me for picking on
them. ) Love you Joanne, still love your name too.

I am glad it was my card that made you come back in here because we have
missed you.
