Brakes, Crashes Into Oregon Coffee Shop
                               12-03-2004 5:00 PM

                               CORVALLIS, Ore. --  A 74-year-old man
accidentally hit the gas pedal instead of
the
brakes as he was trying to park his car and
crashed into a Corvallis coffee shop,
officials
                               said.

A woman was taken to a hospital and released
after the accident, which scattered shards
of
                               glass across the cafe.

"It felt like an earthquake. The whole thing
shook," said business owner Jenny Lyons, who
explained she was working in the back of the
cafe when the car smashed through a large
plate
glass window and went more than halfway into
the
                               business.

About 20 people were in the shop, and one
regular, Claudia Wise of Albany, had her leg
                               pinned underneath the vehicle.

Officials estimate the crash caused about
$3,000
worth of damage to the building.

The driver, Harry Schultz, was cited for
                               careless driving, said Corvallis police
Capt.
John Sassaman. There was no indication that
alcohol or drugs were a factor in the crash.

Yikes......how very scary!!!   I'm thankful that no one was too
seriously injured or killed.   Sounds like more than 3,000 in damage
though!

Wow! I have not heard about this I wonder which coffee shop was
affected.

Doing well otherwise, speaking of Java I just found the
Trojan.byteverify on my machine.  Fortunately my java VM was patched
so it did not execute.  I did a full scan of my system with Norton's
and it was detected on my temp internet files.  I will run it tomorrow
and see if it shows up again.  There was no hijacking nor did my
favorites contain porn sites.  I wish foxfire worked better on my
system maybe I will try another download.  Thankfully I am fully up to
date with all my security patches so no damage was done. It is a
jungle on the internet! -- MZ

Yikes I just checked the location and it is close to my house!  I stop
there fairly often. I will check it out tomorrow. -- MZ
