You'll have to go through the pre-auth again for the new ins.
If you're over 65 most ins will pay no prob.
I would be careful of Bexta though. My Rhumy feels it's a lot like Vioxx.
I've been battleing PA for a few yrs now and I find that ibprophen does just
as well. (Not much really)

Here is a note from the spondy association:
Position Statement from SAA's Medical and Scientific Advisory
Board on the COX-2 Inhibitors
11/23/2004
Vioxx belongs to a class of drugs known as the COXIBS. Other
examples include Celebrex, Arcoxia, and Bextra. Until more
information becomes available, all COXIBs should be regarded
as having the potential to increase the risk of adverse
cardiovascular events. Patients with past and/or current heart
disease, and those at serious risk of heart disease (e.g.
diabetics), should check with their physician before
continuing to take any of these medications.

in my experience, ibuprofen actually helps the pain a bit more than most
other NSAIDs for me. The problem is it only lasts 4-6 hours so I have to
take it often, I have that nasty period when one dose is wearing off and the
next hasn't kicked in yet and I'm really in bad shape after sleeping 6-8
hours. Bextra and Feldene are the only ones that have actually lasted me 24
hours (including the other supposedly 24 hour meds.) If I need to stop
Bextra, I think i'll ask to try Fledene again.

Nann, is that OTC ibuprofen, or prescription (Indocin)?
From 1977 to 2000 I was taking Indocin 50mg 3x daily
and it never faded between doses.

Ibuprofen. The message that preceeded mine was from someone who likes it
best of the NSAIDs for their PA. I would too, if it lasted longer for me.
More of the same old story about what works for one, may not work for
another. Indocin faded on me, too, when I took it. Apparently my system
clears most drugs quickly. I used to be able to recite the whole list of
NSAIDs we went through learning this, but I've replaced it with more
important knowledge in my brain - like how to blay bubbels :)
