Who is my Santa?

So I just came home and found a big package sitting in front of my house.  I
brought it in and opened it and it had a jar opener in it.

I am beyond excited.  I have wanted one of these since finding out about them.
The card says from Santa Clause "ASA".  I would so love to know who Santa is
so I can thank her/him.

So Santa, when you read this, thanks from the bottom of my heart.  This year
will be the first year I am not doing Christmas.  House is on the market, I am
dealing with some health issues that take much energy, and I am trying to evict
my only bad set of tenants in my many years as a landlord. Today I spent way to
much time with attorneys and doctors. People drove badly;  I saw two homeless
guys in a fight downtown; a woman without a handicap placard took the last
parking spot (it was a handicapped spot) downtown and then laughed. I sure
wasn't thinking about love and generosity and friendship when I walked up that
driveway and found that package.

This became more than a gift; it made me remember deep connections and
friendships.  It made my heart glad.

I love you, Santa, whoever you are-

Melinda, what a very nice surprise.  Whoever sent it, you deserve it.  You
are most generous, and it's nice your genorosity is being repaid.

funny how these things happen just when you need them, isn't it?  Santa can
be a tricky fellow.

M,

I wish things were going better for you with the health issues and the
tenant issues. Sorry to hear that you are not having Christmas this year
either. We aren't either. No money. Also sold all my decorations for the
holidays at yard sales to get some money. ;-)

Boy you sure hit on alot of rude, stressed out people there.

It is so sad that every one gets so uptight at this time of year. But then
again that is what Christmas has become for many years now.

You take care and know I am thinking of you Sis. Hope the house on the
market goes smoothly for you.

An item in this week's business news stated that Wal-Mart
is selling items on-line at 50% less than the in-store prices.
One of the items mentioned was a jar opener.

Gwen, why ask for a jar opener when you can have me?  I promise to love you
like you desire, I'll even let you have our love child.  I promise to never
run off with Evelyn Ruut again.

Hello Dennis and welcome to ASA.  It does seem as though you know Gwen from the
alzheimers group but I certainly can't figure out if this is a cool joke among
two friends or if this has a semi aggressive tone.  If this is an in joke
thing, accept my apologies and, again, welcome to ASA.  If it is the other,
we'll need to talk.

By the way, what kind of arthritis do you have or are you just dropping by for
information?

Oh, Melinda, I was just kidding!   Besides, I have HUGE
feet...........bigger than probably anyone you have ever met and because
of a previous broken foot and the RA, I have to buy a mans shoe to fit
me.  You save your money for things YOU need!!!

Hugs to you dear, dear, lady!!!

Donna G
ShenMei9 - 03 Dec 2004 22:45 GMT
I actually had a size 10 wide new balance black pair sitting in my closet.  I
bought them last year to put orthotics in and they were just too big for me.
Never wore them accept once in the house.

Bet my daughter has bigger feet than you do, Donna!  Meg is one of those tall
lanky women who now wears a size four.  Her proms used to be a crack up as she
would find some designer dress from this store in SF that sells clothes worn
once in runway fashion shows.  They were all these size 0's and 2's.  Then we
would start the shoe hunt.  Now even payess has size 11.5 shoes, then you had
to special order shoes that big from catalogues.

I wanted to tell you that I got a note from Cush saying that you were his
favorite doctor and all the help you have given him with his busted ankle.
He said that I was so ornery that TB did not stand a chance with all the hot
air I put out.
LOL ,,, he may be right.

Newsgroup Spambuster - 04 Dec 2004 08:48 GMT
Melinda,

Meg wears a size 4?   Why that is absolutely petite!

I actually always wore a size 10 wide for the majority of my teen and
adult years, and would have gladly bought those shoes in your closet
from you if I could have.

It has only been since I broke my foot and then the RA got worse that I
ended up having to move to much larger size shoes. I got to the point
where even an 11 wide in ladies didn't fit.   They seemed like they got
shorter or something.   My big toe would be literally pushing at the end
of the shoe.   I now have to wear a size 11 EE in a mans shoe.
Sometimes when my foot and ankle really swell up, even the double EE is
tight on my foot!  I know, that is horrendous and like I said, probably
the biggest foot of any female on this group or that anyone knows!   I
haven't yet tried wearing a size 12 in a ladies shoe.   I just get so
frustrated with having to buy a mans shoe to fit me.   Haven't worn a
dress or dressy shoes in several years.   Don't even know if I could
ever find anything to fit my big clodhoppers!   The one thing that is
nice, though, is that michiga does have a very nice shoe store in bay
city that sells shoes literally from like a size 4 AAAAA to like a size
18-20 EEEEE.   It is a wonderful store to shop in as they always treat
you like royalty when you are there and their prices really aren't that
much out of range of a good shoe store.   They also send lots of
catalogs through the mail so you can mail order as well.   I love that
place and try to get there at least once every year or two.   I buy alot
of my shoes from the catalog since I like new balance brand and that
brand has always fit me the best.   They are expensive, but well worth
every cent in my opinion!!!

I guess a 12 D in men's wouldn't work?  Mike has lots of pairs floating
around here.  If we'd thought of it, we could have taken you to the New
Balance factory outlet in Boston!  It is a true outlet, right across the
street from their world headquarers, and they even have occasional sales.  We
stocked up when we were living there.

Allen's Shoes?  I never went in there (don't really need shoes now) but Mike
found a great deal on some Hush Puppies there.

Dear Santa,
I've looked and looked, but I can't find these guys anywhere in Texas.
Could you help me out?  Just an address in my stocking would work. :-)

Just wonderful.  He's been back at work for 2 weeks now.  His company
put him at a desk job since he can't climb ladders right now. (He's a
process tech at a chemical plant)  When his balance gets better,
they'll put him back on the unit.  They've been great, because they
knew our full pay was ending 11-30 and they had a desk job for him
starting 12-1.  They let him off on the days he has brain injury
therapy, which is only going to be one day a week starting next week,
since he's had such great improvement.

We've been on prayer lists all over the world, and we are very, very
blessed that he's even alive, much less still the same mentally, with
all his faculties.  Thanks for thinking about us.

(I just saw that I never replied to this!)  This is just so wonderful Mag.
That company Duane works for is a real blessing.  Just when you get cynical
about employer/employee relations, some story like this comes along to remind
you there are lots of decent, considerate people in the world - and some of
them are even employers!  LOL  It is so good to hear how well it is all
working out for him.  And I hope you can soon turn to looking after yourself
more.

And everybody thought I was loopy when I was in High School. The girls would

See KJ? I wasn't as crazy as you thought I was....

They are firefighters.  Look around in some Texas firehouses.   <g>

Yeah, I recognized it, Chief.  My Dad and brothers were in our VFD

However, I never did see any hoses like these. LOL

M, and Donna G.

How kind you are. That is just so sweet of you to offer.

But I really am not going to be decorating anymore. At least not for a long
time. It hurts too much not to have money to get others things and have to
be looking at the decorations to remind me.

So I really am ok with it. But thank you so much for both your generous
offer.

Also have been doing some studying on if it is right for us (Jim and I and
the boys) to be celebrating the holidays anyways. So maybe once I get that
figured out I might change my mind. ;-)
