Hi guys!!!  So very good to be back. I am doing better
than anyone can really believe. bwhaaaa   PT this
morning had my bend at 130 and that is with me doing
the bending. I think the other leg reads 135 so can't
complain on that. I will be released sometime next week
to outpatient PT [no more home visits] and my home PT
was laughing that they won't know what to do with me. I
personally have some ideas.
Drove my new car around the high school parking lot on
Black Friday but discovered that although I could do
it, I probably shouldn't. That was just at week 3. Will
wait another week and try again.
Kids left today to go back to CA so the house is quiet
again.
I was told to loose the walker last Wednesday by the PA
in the ortho department and lose it I did. Have noticed
that yesterday and today, I keep walking off without
the cane. Confessed that to the PT today and she says
that is a good sign. Also told her that coming home the
other day and even with me saying up with the good
leg, managed to forget coming over the threshold and
put up the new formerly bad leg. Was in mid step when I
realized it was wrong but amazed that I lifted my body
weight with it. PT says that it is getting really
strong. Haven't done that again mind you, and the
threshold is a shorter step than the rest of those in
the house but just the same.
Now I just need to wait out time to heal [rumored to be
6 and 8 weeks] and I will be good to go.
Stupid computer says I am now on reserve battery again.
At least I can take it to and from the office myself
now. See you all later.

Aaah, it is the power in those fine looking, dancing legs of yours.    You
should be an advertisement for getting the support structure in shape before
having something done to a joint....   :-)  Do well,,, be well and show us
how it is done.

Duckie,
That is such great news... I agree with Harv...All that dancing has you in
such great shape...
Can't wait for you to be on the dance floor again...

Hi Duckie,

I haven't been around either...(Major computer problems). Where were
you? It sounds like you are doing better, but I think I missed something
here.

Anyway, BIG HUGS! And we still have to get your website done!

Hugs,
Carole :)

Hey Carole, and I thought you were just working too hard!  LOL  How's the
job, et.al. going?

Duckie had a knee repplacement on 11/5.  She has been recovering more quickly
than her docs and physical therapists expected.  But we knew she would.  She
worked so hard at getting her leg muscles ready for this ahead of time and
she was so determined to get that knee working QUICKLY.  Don't mess with our
Duckie!  LOL

Hi Nann,

The job is going OK. I have a paycheck and a roof over my head :)

Wow, didn't know about Duckie, but I'm happy to hear that she is doing
well. She'll be dancing around soon! And I'll bet those doctors didn't
mess around with her either...she probably told them all how to get it
done faster :)

lol -- she's yelling at me.... But you are right. I am
giving up waiting for a picture of Mother, Jen and I in
the same shot. Maybe I can rig up one with face shots
of the three of us...
As to my missing, I have had my right knee replaced Nov
5th. See you really did miss something. Glad you got
your puter problems fixed.

Such good news, Duckie!  I was amazed when you wrote you achieved a bend
of 135 degrees after only three weeks.  I was struggling with 100 degrees
six weeks after my last TKR.  lol

 Keep up the good work!

Thanks Sarah. Guess who drove her car today. Come on
guess.  Drove down to the dancer's shoe store and
picked up the latin shoes I had ordered in July which
finally came in Nov 3rd. Since surgery was on the 5th
and that place is always over run by kids with colds, I
waited. It made a nice place to take my first drive
alone as I never had to leave the neighborhood streets.

LOL  somehow it just seems soooooo appropriate that your first post-op
driving was to the dancers' shoe store!
