Being born and raised in middle Georgia, I seldom saw snow. Never had
enough to make snow men, etc. On the farm, who bothered to rake leaves? I
do love hot chocolate with marshmallows, never tried it with whipped cream.
Bet it's good. I remember a wood fireplace that burned me on one side while
the other side froze in a house without a ceiling and an electric bulb
hanging on a cord in the center of the room (that was after the kerosene
lamps!). We later had a heater and I believe it burned coal. I remember it
well because I have a nice scar on the side of my leg just above the knee
where I bumped into it. It did warm more space than the fireplace. Am I
dating myself??

Hot cocoa with marshmallow fluff (and some peppermint schnapps).
I'd say you might be "dating" yourself, except I rented an apartment in
1992 that used a coal burning furnace (God but you didn't want to get
within a foot of it...). I can remember kerosene heaters in my house
in Maine, at least I think it was kerosene... Left a lovely film on
everything.
