Tonight I'm supposed to do two shots and there is only one needle!  Can I
draw the med up into the same syringe or should I just borrow another needle
from a separate pack?

I'd borrow one from a new pack and then get to the pharmacy for a new needle
before the next injection is due. Did the package come without a needle?

Diane,
The Enbrel people told me that you can't stick a needle through the
rubber stopper on the vial anymore.  You can't use another syringe,
such as insulin syringe like we used to be able to do.  In other
words, you're going to have to use an Enbrel syringe because you'll
need to use that adapter.  You may have to call the Enbrel hotline and
have them mail you another syringe.  Did something happen to the
syringe that goes with that dose?
I wish I would have asked them what we are supposed to do if we bend a
needle and have no other packages left.

You can purchase needles by the same manufacturer in bulk.  I use a 30
gauge, 1/2 inch needle routinely instead of the 27 gauge that comes with the
Enbrel pack.  Results in a much smoother injection.  I purchased a box of
100 such needles for something like $25.  They even come wrapped exactly
like the needles that come with the Enbrel pack.  You can do a google search
if interested.  I bought mine from a company in Maine.

Charlie, you should be able to get the same thing at any local pharmacy,
without having to spend that much. Of course, mail order is great because it
comes right to your door, but thought I'd throw this out there.

Thanks, but they are not available in local pharmacies in this area.  I'm
probably mistaken on the price.  A box of 200 is available on a website I
just checked for $14.75.  These are manufactured by Becton Dickinson, the
same company that supplies the Enbrel pack needles and are identical in
appearance; they are 30 gauge, however instead of the 27 gauge in the Enbrel
pack.

There was no needle in the package! I thought it had fallen out or such but
it just wasn't anywhere. I ended up borrowing one from another package and
will call tomorrow to have them send me a replacement. Thanks!
