Some of you know my son Robbie broke his hand two weeks ago playing football.
That was bad enough....poor guy. Thursday morning he shows me his knee, red,
hot swollen. Off to the doctor's office. Cellulitis, nasty infection. Oral
antibiotics. Thursday night it's worse and he gets a fever. Off to ER. IV
antibitotics. Friday morning.....worse yet....off to doctors.....IM
antibiotics. Saturday morning...worse yet.....higher fever.....back to
ER...more IV antibitotics. Finally this morning I think (hope and pray) that
all the antibitotics have kicked in. No fever and the knee looks alot better.
So the poor kids has a casted arm and hand, knee that hurts so bad he can't
walk and his other arm is very swollen from the IM antibiotics! Someone is my
house is actually gimpier than me!
I'm sure he'd appreciate good thoughts and prayers that everything feels better
soon!!!!
Thanks!

I'm so sorry about this nasty turn of events! And right in the middle of
football season, too...that sucks. I hope it all clears up quickly for you,
but now you and Mom have something to commiserate about, huh?

KJ,
I am so sorry I missed that post-must have happened when I was in Florida.
Prayers that the cellulitis heals quickly. As fas as the break, I have some
tricks up my sleeve-I'll send you a little care package with moxa, traumagesic,
and cell salts that will accelerate his recovery time from the break big time.
We just took the kids to see Friday Night Lights a few days ago. Great movie
but man, football can be hard on those kid's bodies.

Hi Krissy,
Prayers your football boy makes a fast and speedy recovery.
My son has had three bouts of cellulitis. Once on one leg, twice on the other.
Always started at the ankle and moved its way up very quickly. Each time
needed IV antibotics two days apart. According to my doctor sister-in-law,
some people carry more staph on their skin making them more susceptible (I
guess I can believe that). Think he was 16 yr old the first infection that
traveled up almost to the groin.. he asked the ER doctor "is this going to get
into my 'stuff'?" Well, the doctor looked at me with a stiffled laugh and I
turned a couple of shades of red. Thankfully he hasn't had any episodes for a
few years now. :-D
Hope all is well with you, dear woman!

Robbie, no use trying to out do your Mother, you know she always has the upper
hand. LOL
I was really sorry to hear about your bad couple of weeks and I hope things are
getting much better for you.
Did the team fall apart after you were benched? Bet it did!
Take care of yourself and get back on your feet.
