No news. The next angio is more than likely next week but they weren't able to
schedule it today. They will call me Monday to tell me when it is. I am going
to take a week off afterwards. I was so tired after the first proceedure.
Cardio dude thinks in part it was due to coming off the mega pred I had to take
due to the iodine in the dye but he readily agreed to do the paperwork for a
medical leave.
I saw my PCP Tues. for an ear infection. She asked me three times "Is there
something else we should talk about?" I said no. She said the cardio actually
called her after the cath because he was so concerned. She asked me again if
there was anything else. I said no. I got home that night and remembered the
sleep apnea. Duh. The point is that I did remember it today and the
cardiologist scheduled a sleep study. It's sometime early in Nov. He said the
sleep apnea can be a contributing factor but the biggest thing is not getting
enough rest. He asked if I was tired a lot, I said "Yes, I have RA, of course
I'm tired". But maybe not all of it is the RA. So, what do you call a sleep
doctor. I'm sure it's an ologist of some sort. Not that there is anything
against ologist, I is one after all but I don't want a collection of them.
I'll let you guys know more when I find out the date.

Sarah, I don't know what king of ologist they are called, but they do a
great job. You'll have to wash your hair when you get back home.

Get the paper and pencil SarahL. You need to start taking a list so you
don't forget. I sent a note with my husband to his Dr's appt. today
with all the questions I wanted answered. If I don't, when I ask him
what the Dr said he says he doesn't know LOL!!! Good thing he's
disgustingly healthy.

I did that twice. Stuck the note in my purse and didn't look at it again.
This time I did it on a sticky note. When I got in the exam room, I stuck it
on the doctor's desk. Thank goodness that worked, I thought I was going have
to tatoo it on my forehead.

Because I don't drive, Mary takes me to all my appointments.
And I take her into the exam rooms (she even witnessed my
2 prostate biop's <g>). I tell doctors she is my "ears" and
none have argued because they know I have poor hearing.

Sarah,
I am glad to see that you are going to take a bit of medical leave and
take care of yourself for a change! Will be praying that the next
angio and the sleep study will go fine and that there won't be anything
major to be concerned about. As far as what type of ologist oversees
the sleep study, that would be a pulmonologist (lung doctor). They are
usually the ones who oversee the sleep study and then prescribe the
c-pap or bi-pap is needed. Occasionally an ENT doctor will be
involved, but most often it is the pulmonologist who oversees it all.
Good luck to you and hang in there!!!

I knew it had to be an ologist. Thanks for the info Donna.

Sarah -- you sound tired now. Get some sleep now if
possible. Glad you asked for medical leave the week
after. Worry about you. :)

{{{{{{{{{{{{Sarah}}}}}}}}}}}} Just seeing 'ologists' is so fatiguing!
My mom's pulmonologist is the one that ordered the sleep studies. They
aren't the only ones who do them, though. Hope you can get some real
rest for body and soul soon.

Can you take longer than a week off work, Sarah? As much as you've
been through lately, a week doesn't sound like a long enough time.
This heart stuff is a big deal, isn't it?? Just a suggestion.

>Can you take longer than a week off work, Sarah?
I could but I don't want to use up all of my FMLA time. I would like to have
some rotor-router work on my knees and my left shoulder. The left shoulder is
really acting up right now and I'm left handed and I have to sign my name many
times a day since I sign-off on a lot of staff's work. If only the shoulder
would behave for another year or two, we are going to electronic records and I
will be signing electronically.

I know this sounds really spoiled, Sarah L, but after my 3rd & 4th knee
operations, I scheduled it so that 4 weeks after each operation, I went
to Hawaii for a month. Laying in the shade sucking down wine coolers
makes you heal much faster. Really!
I went back to work tan, healed, and a very happy camper LOL!!! Go for
a couple weeks at least! Stay at the Hyatt in Poipu on Kauai.
