It's been 2 1/2 months and while my left knee is stronger i can't help
wonder just how long does it take to get as "good as it gets".

A year is typical, though some have reported improvement as much as 18
months later.

Yes, patience is required.

Took me a good 10 months and probably closer to a full year before it was "as
good as it gets".  During that time I continually worked on my PT at home.
That was 14 years ago.  Have patience and keep working, it will come.

Holy Cow, Bryan, you have to give it some time LOL!!!   They put my TKR
in right, but they put my leg back on backwards, and I still don't know
whether I'm coming or going!

Seriously though, the inside of your knee takes a lot longer to heal
than your incision.  I've read estimates as high as 2 years.  Two months
after my TKR, the RA came back stronger than ever attacking the tendons
so pain wise I'm no better off.

Everyone is different.  Keep doing your exercises and lubricating it
with beer and you'll know when you get there.

Every now and again i lube up with a good single malt scotch (actually
there really isn't a bad scotcg, some are just better than others)

Nothing like a Jack Daniels to lube up the old joints!  (or maybe I
just forget I hurt?)

There's a whole article in Arthritis Today about complete knee replacement.
Check it out
