Ahhh, Rose. I'd love to. But, I'm too bogged down this year. This will be the
first time I've missed the exchange, since the very first one.

I would love to as well, but I cannot make commitments at this time.
I never know when a "bad" day is going to overwhelm me...they are more
frequent these days. :(

You can always add your name. In the past we have sent only when some
were not in a position to reply.

Please, Patty and Janet, add your name to the list.  Even if you do not send
cards you can receive them.  I have been on the list for several yrs and have
not sent any cards.  (I already have cards for this year though.)

They are such fun to receive.  Please add your name and address to the list.

Rose,

I'm emailing you my address. I'm so swamped with schoolwork I can't even
think about sending out any cards, but I would love to receive them.

I'm going to pass, thanks. Nothing personal. Just the religious thing.
Thanks for the invite, though.

Adelle, could we not send Hannukah cards? Because I don't mind receiving
cards of any stripe. I wouldn't care if I got a postcard. I just love all
the greetings that show up in my mailbox. Also, if you don't wish to send
that's fine, too.

Yep -- what she said. I usually try to send 'Holiday
Cards'.

Didn't want to make you guys have to go out and purchase anything special
just for me.

And quite frankly, being a somewhat religious person, I support anyone who
feels that the religious aspect of the holiday should not be outweighed by
the commercial. But its precisely the religious type cards that are the most
inappropriate to me to recieve. A lot of this is my own issues/confusion
about how to deal with the holiday. And given that my husband was raised
Episcopalian and we will have a tree and presents adds to my confusion.

I've added my own clarity somewhat. I no longer participate in anything
related to Christmas that makes my life overwhelming. Before, things fell to
gender roles - Doug got the tree and put on the lights, I did everything
else: All the gift shopping for us and the families, wrapping everything,
boxing whatever needed to be shipped and getting them to UPS, decorating the
tree, the cards, the baking for 'exchanges', making hors d'ouvres for the
Christmas day visit to his relatives.....on top of whatever Chanukah stuff
and New Year's stuff was to be done. SO now, I only do what I enjoy - the
shopping and cooking. Oh, and I wind up 'doing' the bulk of the wrapping
because I can wrap three presents in the time it takes for Doug to do one. I
also do the shipping because I used to do shipping when I worked retail and
know what UPS wants. Many friends/family haven't gotten Christmas cards in
years, but I figure it's Doug's job. It's his holiday.

SO maybe it's better to say, until I figure out my own mishegas (pronounced
mi- shi- GAHS - craziness), I won;t inflict it on you guys. Or is it too
late? ;-)

Yep.  Too late.  lol  All I wanted to do was to send you a card wishing you a
joyous holiday season, in whatever way you celebrate, whatever holiday/s you
celebrate.

Actually, I just wanted to let you know that I consider you a dear friend and
wanted to do that by sending you a holiday card.  If you dont want to do that,
it is OK by me. Dont wish to appear pushy.

ROFL!!  I love ya, Adelle!  I usually send out Happy Holiday cards.  To my
friends who I KNOW are Jewish, I send Chanukah cards, and to those who
celebrate it, Kwanza cards.  It can get complicated, but I don't care.  If
you are truly a friend, you take the time to know your friends and their
likes, etc.  Adelle will never get a Christmas card from me again.  :-D

Adelle, you are so adept at explaining your own foibles and making the rest
of us feel good about ourselves.<g> Whatever makes you happy makes me happy.

Would you like a lovely postcard from Oregon in lieu of a (insert your
holiday here) greeting? I would be happy to oblige, having some left over
from the summer postcard exchange.

The bottom line is that I like you and want to include you, whether you want
to be included or not.lol

My nephew is Jewish...but they celebrate both.  Can we send you
Hanukah (forgive my spelling big time) cards?
