Hello,
A family member is in her mid-50s and is suffering from
upper back pain, shoulder pain and neck pain
at times. She suspects she may also have problem
with joints.

We wanted to hear from others who have
tried these products:

1. Flexamin
2. Osteo Bi Flex
3. Nutrajoint

These contain glucosamine chondroitin and MSM.

Do they help at all?

Are there side effects to these things?

Please advice.

Curious, I take triple strength Osteo Bi-Flex (without the MSM) and know
that it helped my hands.  I don't know about back, shoulder and neck pain
though.

same here, but it helps my knees more than anything else.

My advice, she should see a doctor and get a definite diagnosis.

What does her doctor say?  These symptoms might be several different things,
which call for different treatment.  I've had a lot of pain in the mentioned
areas of late because of bulging discs in my neck.  The mentioned creams
would do nothing for me, but the PT my doc prescribed has helped a lot.  If
said relative has een diagnosed by a doc, it's time to get that done.

Check this sight for probably the most current information on GS/C and
others.

Sounds like she hasn't seen a doctor if she "suspects"
anything.  And we would be as big fools to give advice
as she is for not having that pain diagnosed rather than
having  someone jump on the internet and inquire from
non-medical people.
