Dear Folks,

It seems that I come here for all types of help.  My 17 yo very sensitive son
needs help in reading.  I'm trying to encourage him to read more often.  His
only interest seems to be in wheels.  You know cars, trucks, tow trucks, etc.
Does anyone out there know a writer who writes perhaps mysteries involving a
trucker, biker, car racer, etc?  (I do need to be carefully of sexual content
with this one.)  Any ideas?

TIA,

Vickie B.

My son loves cars, trucks, and motorcycles.  He reads magazines on
these subjects.  You do have to look for the magazines without
semi-nekkid hussies on the front...but there are good ones out there.
Walmart is a great place to find them and they are 10% cheaper.

I have given up on getting him to read books.  He devours
magazines...2 or 3 a week.

I can check around... if they exist, I'm sure my friends probably read them
:-)

If he does look at magazines, I have found that Car & Driver has some of the
better long articles.  A little better reading challenge there than in some
of the mud boggers or wheeling magazines, which are mostly shorter stories
or car specs.

Vicki,

Go to Barnes and Noble and ask someone to help you with that.  I bet you can
find something for that young man to read.  If he ever gets interested he
might be hooked!
