I have some web pages (and also posts) that are supposed to have pictures on
them but have a square with a little boxed x at the top instead.

Anyone know why?

Thanks

Are these web pages you've made, or web pages that you're viewing? The
little symbol you're seeing means that the html image location tag is
pointing to a place where there is no file of the correct name. this can
occur for a variety of reasons, including spelling errors, changes to
the directory tree, and referencing the image files based on the
development environment which does not correspond to the server
environment. I'm happy to assist further.

Typically this means that the image links are out of order.
It could be something as simple as a reference to net images
while their host is offline.

Ditto ditto ditto....I am a webmaster for a small businesses...that is
the problem 99% of the time.
Check the spelling, check link, make sure you uploaded the images, and
then view on a different computer when finished.

Make sure your link points to where the picture is on your server. If
it's photo1.jpg and it's in the images folder, your link has to include
the directory:

<img src="images/photo1.jpg">   <---like that :)

If you are not sure about coding, right click on a page, and then go to
View Source and you can see the code that is there.

I used to be able to get pictures at this site and was able to download and
play them.  Then, all of a sudden I can't.  I went to the bulletin board and
everyone else seems to be able to get these video downloads.  The site is
www.welovesarah.com/josh.

I get the same thing, and I'm on broadband on a different continent.
It's like the server for that site doesn't want to deliver the images.
The other people probably have the images in their browser's cache, and
that's why they are able to see them. I've been waiting five minutes for
the images to load. I suggest emailing the webmaster.
